Removing or pausing your listing

You’re considering taking your listing offline. Whether it’s because you sold your property or are taking it off the market (permanently or temporarily), it’s key to wait till the right time.
You sold your property
In the best-case—and most likely—scenario, your property has sold. Congratulations! The first step is to place your J’AI VENDU sticker on your sign for at least 2 months, or until the deed of sale is signed. Take a picture or video to commemorate the occasion and share the good news with your friends and family on social media.
Next, let our sales team know you’ve sold, either by filling out the information in My DuProprio or by calling us. A notice will appear on the main photo of your listing and your contact information will be removed. This will allow your listing to help other homeowners establish their own property value by looking at comparable properties that have sold.

What do I do with my sign when I move?
Our signs are made of Coroplast®, which cannot be put in your recycling bin. However, there are options available to you: check with Recyc-Québec whether your local ecocentre accepts them or offer them to other sellers in our Facebook community. But don’t get rid of your sign too soon! Signs displayed with the “J’ai vendu!” stickers could win you a gift card valued at $100!*

You want to pause your listing
You might consider pausing if it won’t be possible for you to manage visits, phone calls and emails for a given period of time, or you want to put off your selling project for personal reasons or until major renovations are finished. Pausing temporarily can be possible, depending on the package you selected. There are however a few conditions:
- The pause is valid for a maximum of 6 months per year.
- If your listing is not reactivated after that time, there will be a fee to put the listing back online.
- The pause does not extend the expiration date of limited-duration packages.
Contact our customer service at 1 866 387-7677 to go ahead with the pause or to determine whether pausing is really a good idea in your situation.
FAQ
When is a property considered sold?
No need to wait until your meeting with a notary to consider your property sold. Consider it sold as soon as an unconditional offer has been accepted or, for a conditional offer, after the Amendments and Notice of Fulfillment of Conditions document has been signed by both the buyer and seller.
Do I have to remove my listing if I’ve accepted a conditional offer?
Before removing your listing, make sure that all the conditions in the offer have been met or rescinded. We recommend you keep it online and on the market in case one of the conditions can’t be met and the offer falls through.
Are you familiar with The 72-hour clause? It lets you negotiate and accept a second offer with another buyer, even if a first offer has already been accepted.
*Limited time offer subject to changing without notice. Some conditions apply.
